Greetings from KSPRS President
The FESTIVAL is here again!

In recent years, numerous colleagues and friends from abroad, as well as Korean members, have participated in PRS Korea, both to benefit from academic exchanges and to enjoy Korea’s cuisine natural beauty, and collegiality. Most of the presentations and discussions are held in English, and as the rigor and breadth of its intellectual content have increased, PRS Korea has become a truly international conference.
2019 PRS Korea will be particularly valuable, as it will overlap with the annual meetings of the Korean Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association (KCPCA), Asian Forum of Fat and Stem cell (AFS), Korean Academic Association of Oculoplastic Surgery (KAOPS), Association of Minimal Invasive Plastic Surgery (MIPS), and Korean Academic Association of Facial Trauma Surgeons (KAFTS). I would like to thank the operational staff of the societies and research associations who are collaborating with us.

Meanwhile, Alan Matarasso, the president of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), was invited as the keynote speaker. Our renowned professor David Chang will deliver the Songbaek Lecture, while Gregory M. Buncke will deliver the Hallym Lecture. Furthermore, I would also like to thank all invited speakers for taking the time to participate despite their busy schedules.

Cutting-edge and engaging sessions have been prepared, spanning all fields of plastic surgery, and diverse forms of presentations and discussions await you. I heartily thank the academic chairperson and members for their dedication in preparing this event.

I am confident that you will enjoy and benefit from the social events that we have carefully prepared.

With these preparations completed, the FESTIVAL is ready to commence.

Please, come and enjoy the FESTIVAL with us!

Bae, Yong Chan
President of Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons
Greetings from the Chairman, The Board of Directors
It is my pleasure to invite you to PRS Korea 2019, the annual meeting of the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons (KSPRS), which will be held at the convention center of the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas hotel in Seoul, Korea, between Friday, November 8 and Sunday, November 10, 2019.
As you know, the KSPRS has promoted the internationalization of its activities in many domains, including conferences and journal publishing. The annual meeting of the KSPRS was converted from a domestic conference to an international meeting in 2011, and it has been held under the name ‘PRS Korea’ since 2015. Furthermore, English was adopted as its official language in 2016.

At PRS Korea 2018, about 120 invited speakers presented on various themes. Roughly 300 international plastic surgeons participated and engaged in heated, but productive, debates. Likewise, at PRS Korea 2019, many prominent scholars from all over the world will participate, including Alan Matarasso, the 2019 President of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS); Gregory M. Buncke, Director of the Buncke Medical Clinic, and David W. Chang, Chief of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Chicago Medicine.

The guest nation of PRS Korea 2019 will be Indonesia. We plan to sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for mutual cooperation with the Indonesian Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (InaPRAS) at the conference. Numerous members of global partner societies that have signed MOUs with the KSPRS are expected to participate in PRS Korea 2019.

PRS Korea’s academic program always includes all areas of plastic surgery, including basic research, reconstructive surgery, and cosmetic surgery. As usual, many members of the KSPRS will participate in PRS Korea 2019. They will present and discuss the results of their recent research on diverse topics of broad interest. Additionally, Yong Bae Kim, a professor at Soonchunhyang University, will deliver a retirement lecture.

The theme of PRS Korea 2019 is ‘Summation, the step for the next creation’. The academic committee has prepared various programs, including live surgery and video presentation sessions, to make the conference more rewarding. We would appreciate your active participation, which will make a vital contribution to the intellectual substance of PRS Korea 2019.

We have also prepared leisure activities, including a gala party and tourist expeditions, to foster friendship among participants and to provide an opportunity for participants to relax. We hope that you will enjoy the beautiful Korean autumnal landscape and the dynamic atmosphere of art and culture.

I look forward to seeing you at PRS Korea 2019. We eagerly anticipate your participation, and hope to see you in November.

Thank you.

Greetings from KCPCA Chairman of the General Assembly
Dear Members of the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons,

Greetings to all, it has already been six months since 2019 started. I am confident that you are all continuing to fulfill your duties and responsibilities despite the current difficulties in the field of healthcare.
I would like to thank you again for your help in successfully holding the Research and Reconstruction Forum and the Congress of the Korean Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association this spring.

We are now preparing for the fall congress of the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons and the Korean Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association.

As speakers, we have invited professor David Chang, who is an authoritative figure in reconstructive surgery for head and neck cancer; professor Alan Matarasso, who has achieved superb advances in plastic surgery; and professor Gregory Buncke in the field of hand surgery and microsurgery. By inviting these speakers, we hope to present an opportunity to mutually exchange knowledge and build relationships.

Through its efforts over the last decades, the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons has achieved international renown, and as members, we are all aware of our more prominent status. Nonetheless, much work remains to be done. We urge you to take a lively interest in the fall congress and to participate enthusiastically.

I wish you peace and happiness in your professional and personal lives.

Greetings from KCPCA President
Greetings!

As president of the Korean Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association, I would like to cordially invite researchers from all over the world to attend the 22nd Congress of the Korean Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association.
The Congress of the Korean Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association, which is held concurrently with the PRS KOREA conference every year, will provide a valuable opportunity for researchers in the field of craniofacial surgery from throughout the world to come together to share academic knowledge and research findings.

Eight sessions will be held on craniofacial surgery in the 1st room and a master class will be held on the first day of the conference (Friday). Through painstaking effort, Dong-hee Kang, our academic chairperson, has created a program that deals with several fields in depth, including cleft lip/palate and craniosynostosis, congenital abnormality, reconstruction in facial trauma and secondary deformity, simulations and new techniques, hemifacial microsomia and facial palsy, and head and neck reconstruction. Dr. Lun-Jou Lo and Dr. Chien Tzung Chen of Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan will be invited as international presenters to further enrich the congress. I am confident that this congress will be as stimulating and rewarding as in other years.

We would like to welcome all attendees who have an open mind about learning, study fiercely, and spare no effort in their intellectual development. This meeting will be an important opportunity to open new academic horizons in the field of craniofacial surgery and to foster friendships among the global community of craniofacial surgeons.

I look forward to seeing you all in Korea in November.
Thank you.

The 4 Asian Blepharoplasty Forum
Greetings from ABF President
Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the Asian Blepharoplasty Forum (ABF), it is our great pleasure to invite you to attend the 4th ABF, to be held from November 8 to 10, 2019 in Seoul! Our biennial global gathering of innovators and blepharoplasty experts from all over the world is designed for surgeons who are enthusiastic about connecting with brilliant minds, learning about groundbreaking advances, and building a successful practice.
Our goal is for you to return home with renewed knowledge, enhanced skills, and ideas for professional growth.

We would like to draw your attention to two key happenings at the 4th ABF:

First, this year, we will provide 6 mini-symposia on topics such as practical anatomy, surgery for a youthful upper face, blepharoptosis, and complications. Of particular note, there will be a live surgery session on manipulation of the epicanthal fold, levator, canthal angle, and microfat grafts to create a beautiful eyelid and face.

Second, the forum will strive to offer abundant networking opportunities, providing you with events at which you can meet and interact with leading surgeons, friends, and colleagues, as well as sponsors and exhibitors, both at the meeting and at the gala party.

We hope to see you at this wonderful event, and we also hope that you will take some time to enjoy the spectacular and unique beauty of Seoul.

With best regards,

The 3 Asian Forum for Fat & Stem Cells
Greetings from AFS President
On behalf of the AFS board members,
it is honored to hold The 3rd Asian Forum for Fat Grafting and Stem Cells(AFS) with PRS KOREA 2019 in Seoul, Korea.

AFS was founded to exchange our opinions, give presentations and make friendships between plastic surgeons in ASIA, who are interested in doing fat grafting and clinical application of adipose stem cells.
There are many new speakers who have not been introduced to our society from each Asian country. They would participate our movement in the introduction of advanced knowledge and surgical techniques for Asian regions.

Even though we have a short history, AFS has become a meaningful meeting that “Regenerative medicine” could be a part of “Plastic and Regenerative Surgery” in Asia. It also become the scientific meeting that many plastic surgeons could get the information about the knowledge of new researches and updated techniques in Asia.

In the future, AFS aims to be the cornerstone for the young plastic surgeon in Asia to become a leader in worldwide societies. That's why AFS hopes to be held and tour annually in Asia.

Thank you to the Faculty members who participate every year.

The 6 International Forum of Minimally Invasive Plastic Surgery
Greetings from MIPS President
Greetings, members of the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons and plastic surgery specialists
from various countries who are participating in this conference!

On behalf of the Minimal Invasive Plastic Surgery Research Association (MIPS), I am glad that we are cohosting the international conference held by the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons this year, after our successful experience last year.
MIPS has announced and publicized various matters related to minimal invasive procedures, which have become a new trend in the field of plastic surgery, through several international conferences and symposia held every year. We are proud to have contributed to the development of plastic surgery through these initiatives by sharing knowledge and promoting friendship with all of you. As we all know, the concepts of plastic surgery evolve in response to rapid social changes. In light of such changes, MIPS will continue to strive to emphasize our unique contributions by exploring the use of innovative and new techniques and equipment.

I wish all of you a useful and rewarding time at this international conference, with the hope that you will have the opportunity to further promote collegiality and friendship. I would also like to offer my thanks to President Yong Chan Bae, Chairman Kwang Seog Kim, and the executive directors of KSPRS, as well as to Academic Chairman Chang Woon Yun, Executive Director Jin Young Kim, and all members of MIPS, who have invested considerable time and effort into preparing this conference.

Kang, Won Kyung
President of International Forum of Minimally Invasive Plastic Surgery
The 1 Forum of Korean Academic Association of Facial Trauma Surgeons
Greetings from KAFTS President
Dear members of the Korean Academic Association of Facial Trauma Surgeons,

Greetings to all! It is my pleasure to invite you to PRS Korea 2019, where the Korean Academic Association of Facial Trauma Surgeons will hold its first forum.
The Korean Academic Association of Facial Trauma Surgeons aims to discover ways to improve long-term treatment results through discussions of facial trauma cases. Furthermore, we seek to identify interdisciplinary treatment methods for trauma patients through various invited lectures by speakers in related fields. This is the fifth year since we were enrolled as an official research council in the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons and held our first official conference in 2014. We have held four or five conferences or symposia each year, and will hold our first forum at PRS Korea 2019.

In recent years, the Korean government has been making efforts to reduce the preventable mortality rate of trauma patients to the level of other advanced countries by establishing severe trauma centers and regional trauma centers. Within the field of plastic surgery, efforts have also been made to enhance the treatment outcomes of facial trauma patients and to improve the quality of surgery through active participation in these initiatives of the government and the Korean Society of Trauma . In particular, I think that the remarkable expertise of Korean plastic surgeons in treating facial trauma owes much to the numerous research papers presented at the Korean Research Council of Facial Trauma and the ongoing research and discussions held by the Research Council.

At the first forum of the Korean Academic Association of Facial Trauma Surgeons, attendees will have the opportunity to listen to a presentation entitled "Trauma Care System in Korea" presented by Hang Joo Cho, the chief of the regional trauma center at the Catholic University of Korea Uijeongbu St. Mary’s Hospital , which will enhance attendees’ understanding of the trauma care system in Korea. As an international invited speaker, Arthur J. Nam from the University of Maryland Medical Center, USA will share his experiences at a trauma center in the USA in a talk entitled "Experience of Shock Trauma Center." Furthermore, two international invited speakers—Chien Tzung Chen and Han Tsung Liao from Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, Taiwan—will discuss how they treat orbital fracture patients in Taiwan.

I encourage all specialists, residents, and members who are interested in facial trauma to support and to participate in the first forum of the Korean Academic Association of Facial Trauma Surgeons, which will be held at COEX on November 8 and 9, 2019.

Kang, Dong Hee
President of the Korean Academic Association of Facial Trauma Surgeons
